The city of Beaufort's Redevelopment Commission will meet from 1 to 4 p.m. today to discuss ongoing and future projects for 2014.
The annual retreat will be in the board room of the Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority administration building, 6 Snake Rd., Okatie.
A specific agenda for the meeting is not available, but the commission is working on a number of significant projects that are expected to be discussed.
That includes possible plans for development of the Beaufort Downtown Marina parking lot, which the city has an agreement with developers for. The developers are expected to begin presenting a preliminary plan for the city-owned lot soon.
Never miss a local story.
The final draft would have to be approved by City Council.
Other ongoing initiatives include the Lafayette Street housing project, the Baptist Church of Beaufort housing project, infill housing on empty lots and attracting businesses and new industries.
