The Historic District Review Board is having a special meeting 10 a.m. Friday at Beaufort City Hall, 1911 Boundary St., to consider two projects.
First on the agenda is a public hearing for a design exception for the intersection of King and Scott streets, which is related to the property swap and redevelopment project the city of Beaufort is doing with the Baptist Church of Beaufort.
Developer Steve Tully will then present plans to build four houses and renovate an existing single-family home on King Street at that intersection. The home belongs to the Baptist Church of Beaufort, and has agreed to a land-swap plan that culminates with the renovation and construction of new homes.
This is the first public presentation of the design plans. The agreement between the church and city to work together was approved by City Council in November.
