A former Ridgeland Police officer was charged Thursday in connection with a 2012 domestic incident.
The S.C. State Law Enforcement Division arrested Jermaine Kemel Johnson, 31, in Jasper County and charged him with first offense criminal domestic violence, according to a news release. The misdemeanor is punishable by a fine of between $1,000 and $2,000 or 30 days in jail.
Johnson was released from jail, according to the Jasper County Detention Center. The amount of his bond was unavailable Friday afternoon.
