Hope Haven of the Lowcountry, a rape crisis and children's advocacy center, is accepting applications for volunteers and interns to undergo child-advocate training.
The 3.5-hour training will be at 9 a.m. Aug. 14 at Hope Haven. Child-advocate volunteers will supervise Hope Haven's lobby to greet families, clients and other agency representatives visiting the office, according to a news release. Volunteers will help the children reduce stress and anxiety related to separation from their caregiver, the forensic interview and treatment process.
Pre-registration is required; call Christine Smith at 843-524-2256.
