A Hardeeville man was killed in an early morning head-on collision in Bluffton on Sunday, according to a report from the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The man was killed when his Kia Sportage SUV, traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of Bluffton Parkway, crashed into a four-door Mazda sedan at about 12:30 a.m., according to the report.
Beaufort County Deputy Coroner Timothy Wolf identified the driver of the Kia as 65-year-old William Thompson. Thompson was wearing a seat belt when he crashed, according to the report.
The driver of the Mazda was not wearing a seat belt and was transported to Savannah Memorial Hospital. No information on the driver’s identity was available Sunday.
