Some St. Helena Island residents are being urged to boil their water after a water main break in the Lands End Road area Wednesday, according to a press release from the Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority and S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control.
The area includes the following streets: Hand Drive, Seaside Road from the intersection of Lands End Drive eastward, Lands End Drive, Buchannan, Bay Point, McCoy, Lee and Toomer roads, Lynn Boulevard, Noble Drive, and Vista Boulevard.
Residents are urged to use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, preparing food, and watering pets until further notice. The water is safe for bathing and doing laundry.
The water authority will lift the advisory once the main has been repaired and the water tested, the release said.
