A gun found next to the body of Darryl McArthur Greene on Sunday in Burton has been identified as one stolen from a Georgia law enforcement employee.
The gun was stolen from a Fulton County Sheriff's Department employee, and was reported missing to the Clayton County Police Department March 15. It was a .40 caliber Glock model 22.
Both Fulton and Clayton counties are in the Atlanta area.
Greene, 40, was shot several times and killed about 5:30 p.m. in a public area on the side of Staffwood Road. He was with a group of people, but interviews by the Sheriff's Department have turned up little information.
Never miss a local story.
The Sheriff's Department continues investigate the shooting, and anyone with information about the incident should call Staff Sgt. Fraser at 843-255-3416 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC (1-888-247-6372).
