The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is searching for a 32-year-old Beaufort man accused of stealing credit cards.
Deputies believe Robert Alfred Mallonee stole cards from a home on Chesterfield Lake Drive between Nov. 24 and 26, according to a news release from Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Sgt. Robin McIntosh. He was identified on surveillance video charging about $500 to the cards on Nov. 26, McIntosh said.
Mallonee faces two felony counts of financial-transaction card theft and three counts of misdemeanor financial-transaction card fraud. Consequences for the former charges are a $3,000 to $5,000 fine, as many as five years in prison or both, according to state law.
Those with information about Mallonee can contact Sgt. J. Kelleher at 843-255-3418, make an anonymous call to Crimstoppers at 1-888-274-6372 or text the word TIPSC with a message to 274637.
