Something cold is coming to downtown Beaufort, just in time for the holidays.
YoYo's Frozen Yogurt is "coming soon," according to signs in the windows of 722 Bay St.
It should be ready for a grand opening by the city's Night on the Town celebration Dec. 6 -- and possibly a soft opening before -- part-owner Marjorie Trask Gray said. She is opening the shop with brothers Paul, Angus and Chandler Trask.
It is the second time a group has planned a frozen yogurt shop for the location since Barefoot Bubba's souvenir store moved last November to 828 Bay St., the former home of Lipsitz Shoes. Financing for the first project fell through, according to developer Steve Patterson, who was remodeling the spot.
Never miss a local story.
Gray and her brothers revived the idea.
Hours have not been set because they will change seasonally, Gray said.
"Everyone is very excited," Gray said, adding that a frozen yogurt shop in Beaufort is long overdue.
YoYo's will have a toppings counter where customers can choose from fruits, candy and nuts. It also will have a photo booth that will upload pictures to Facebook.
