Foul play is not suspected in the death of a 32-year-old Lady's Island man found dead in his backyard Saturday, but the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
The man's body was found in the backyard of his home on White Dogwood Road by a neighbor at about 10 a.m. Saturday morning.
Beaufort County Coroner Ed Allen did not release the man's identity Sunday because the next-of-kin had not been notified.
The man likely had been dead for about three days when he was discovered, the Beaufort County Coroner's Office has said. The neighbor who reported the body had last seen the man alive June 29.
Capt. Bob Bromage of the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office said the death scene is being investigated but that foul play is not suspected.
"It could be either natural or accidental," Bromage said. "It is under investigation and a forensic autopsy will likely reveal the cause."
An autopsy was being performed at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston as of Saturday. Results are pending, Allen said.
