Seven Beaufort-Jasper Academy for Career Excellence students won state awards for their industry-related skills.
The students competed in the three-day S.C. Skills State Competition in Greenville, where they took written tests and performed hands-on demonstrations.
The winners were: Ashley Shoemaker, first place in food and beverage service; Ashton Mullins, first place in esthetics; Autumn Smith, first place in nail tech; Aaron Holmes, first place in haircutting; Amori Pringle, second place in haircutting; Lewis Morgan, third place in haircutting; and Dyllon Grimm, second place in welding sculpture.
