Chattanooga earned a three-stroke victory at the 2012 Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship held Sunday-Tuesday at the Moss Creek Golf Club with a final score of 57-over-par 921.
This is the Mocs' third consecutive championship in the program's five-year history.
UNCG, which led the field in each of the first two days, finished at 924. College of Charleston rounded out the top three with a score of 939.
Chattanooga's Jordan Britt was the 2012 SoCon individual medalist with a two-stroke win over UNCG's Fanny Cnops, 222-225. Britt was last year's runner-up.
The Mocs and the Spartans finished with two players each in the top five.
Moss Creek will host the championship for two more years.
GIBBONS WINS WGA GOVERNOR'S TOURNAMENT
Joy Gibbons defeated Carole Johnson on Tuesday, April 10 at Moss Creek Golf Club to become this year's WGA Governor's Tournament Champion.
The WGA Governor's Tournament is a single-elimination, match-play event. The field is divided in two flights by handicap index, and players are then seeded in their flight by a random draw.
Matches are played at 100 percent handicap off the low ball of the match. The first matches were held March 7 with matches played throughout the month.
Gibbons won $100, while Johnson took home $80. Semifinalsts Susan Carlson and Lauretta Anderson each won $60.
Quarterfinalists Sharon Sommerstein, Debbie Hengemuhle, Mary Jane Reeves and Judy Mennich each won $35.
TEAMING UP FOR THE FIRST TEE
During the week of April 23-27, Club Corp is teaming up with The First Tee to help it reach its Campaign for 10 Million Young People.
All week, The Country Club of Hilton Head, Golden Bear Golf Club and all Club Corp facilities have set aside tee times for guest play. Members or guests can visit www.thefirsttee.org/campaign and book tee times at CCHH, Golden Bear of any Club Corp facility, and any money collected will go to The First Tee Campaign for 10 Million People.

CHARLESTON-AREA BOYS WIN HJGT EVENT
Daniel Island's Jeremy Grab shot a two-day total of 74-67--141 to win the Boys 15-18 Division of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour's Major Championship this past weekend at the Pine Lakes Course at Jekyll Island Golf Course in Jekyll Island, Ga. Summerville's Zak Butt had a two-day score of 72-72--144 to win the Boys 11-14 Division.
