A 27-year-old Bluffton man, wanted for giving authorities false information and having an open container of alcohol in a moving vehicle, was arrested Thursday at Steamers Restaurant on Hilton Head Island and wound up with two additional charges against him, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
Lamont Antoine Housey, a cook at the restaurant, was seated at a table for an employee meeting when deputies arrived to serve him with two warrants, according to the report.
When he was escorted into the kitchen, Housey reached into a pocket of his pants, according to the report. Deputies found a small plastic bottle with what they suspected was crack cocaine. A small bag of a substance believed to be less than an ounce of marijuana was found in another pocket, according to a report.
Housey told the deputies the marijuana was his, but the crack cocaine was not, according to the report.
Housey was jailed at the Beaufort County Detention Center, with bond set at $6,352.
