Officers from the Beaufort Police Department have helped the U.S. Marshals Service nab a man wanted for a kidnapping and armed robbery in Summerville, according to the department's Facebook page.
Jason Latroy James, 19, was arrested Tuesday in Polk Village by Beaufort police and members of the U.S. Marshals Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force, authorities said.
James was charged with two counts of armed robbery and six counts of kidnapping in connection with a pair of incidents in Summerville in December.
He is accused of breaking into and robbing a home where children were staying alone and robbing two people at gunpoint outside a Summerville restaurant, according to Summerville authorities.
James was taken to the Dorchester County Detention Center.
