Briana Broxton, a student at Bluffton High School, has won Coastal Connections' 10 Year Anniversary Logo Scholarship Competition.
Broxton was surprised Friday morning in her drawing class when the president and founder of the local staffing agency, Kevin Kowal, walked in with a check made out to her, according to a Beaufort County School District news release. The $1,000 award is to be used for college costs, the agency has said.
Kowal was joined by Broxton's parents, her advanced-art teacher, and classmates who also entered the competition. Her winning logo was selected from more than 25 entries from Beaufort County high school students, the release said.
Broxton was also invited to be on Coastal Connections' float, which will feature her logo, in the Hilton Head Island St. Patrick's Day Parade.
