From staff reports
Jay McLuen of Forsyth, Ga., and Chris Baker of Brownstown, Ind., shared the 36-hole lead Thursday at the eGolf Tour's season-opening championship at Palmetto Hall Golf Club on Hilton Head Island.
The leaders stand at 11-under 133 at the tournament's halfway point.
McLuen, a former College of Charleston golfer, followed up a first-round 68 with a second-round 65 on the tournament host Cupp course, courtesy of a 45-foot eagle putt on the par-5 15th.
Baker, the tour's 2010 River Hills Classic champion and winner of the Challenge Tour's Moroccan Golf Classic that same year, posted six birdies and one bogey on the Hills course for a second-round 67.
Tied for third at 8-under 136, three shots behind McLuen and Baker, are Canada's Cam Burke and Bob Sowards of Dublin, Ohio.
