The U.S. Natural Resources Conservation Service has a grant program to help eligible landowners plant longleaf pine trees.
The Environmental Quality Incentives Program offers financial and technical assistance to plant the trees through contracts of up to 10 years, according to a news release.
Grants can be used on private, nonindustrial land for conservation practices. Landowners can apply until Feb. 17.
