The Bluffton Township Fire District has a new fire marshal and 10 employees with new titles after recent promotions.
Daniel Wiltse has been promoted to fire marshal after serving as deputy fire marshal. He assumed his new position Jan. 13 and oversees the fire-prevention division, which handles all fire inspections and coordinates fire investigations, according to a release.
The promoted firefighters had to complete classes through the S.C. Fire Academy and the National Fire Academy and pass an exam consisting of written and practical-application portions.
Shawn Fitzpatrick and David Rice have earned the title of senior firefighter C.
