A New Jersey man living in Bluffton was arrested Saturday in connection with a Nov. 6 break-in at the American Red Cross on Sheridan Park Circle, according to a Bluffton Police Department news release.
Robert Lee Ashley III, 30, faces third-degree burglary and petit larceny charges, the release said.
The arrest came after blood samples at the scene matched Ashley, Sgt. Joe Babkiewicz of the department's Criminal Investigations Division said in the release. The samples were tested at the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office forensic lab, Babkiewicz said. Lab analysts used the Combined DNA Index System to match the sample to Ashley, the release said.
He was arrested in the Woodbridge subdivision Saturday by the Sheriff's Office, the release said.
