Beaufort police will travel to Jacksonville, Fla., today to retrieve Rajerick Lovell Knight, accused of fatally shooting a 28-year-old man inside a Subway restaurant last week.
Knight, 23, of Burton, waived extradition in a meeting Monday in Jacksonville, according to an email from Beaufort Police Chief Matt Clancy.
Knight was arrested Friday in Jacksonville by members of a U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force.
Information led investigators to believe Knight fled to Jacksonville after fatally shooting Travis Sentell Holmes in the Beaufort restaurant.
Never miss a local story.
Knight once lived in the Jacksonville area, Clancy has said.
