For Water Festival
Thank you, Beaufort, and all the volunteers and staff, for an amazing Water Festival.
We are new here, residents since November. We continue to be astonished and impressed by the variety of activities that Beaufort hosts. We walk downtown and through Waterfront Park daily and feel so fortunate at the care that goes into keeping beautiful flowers planted, the grass maintained and all the litter picked up.
The sheer volume of volunteers who turned out for 10 days proves that Beaufort is loved and cared for by its residents in a manner unlike any place we have ever been. I'm not sure how that spirit developed but I hope nobody takes it for granted and it continues to get nourished because it truly makes this place magical.
Never miss a local story.
I can't even imagine the logistics involved in such a large and long event, but each day things were clean and orderly. And now that it is over, as much work is going into cleaning everything up as went into preparation in advance.
We appreciate the town allocating funds to keep the park beautiful, the traffic abiding speed limits, the grounds clean and the playground safe. We have met people who are lifelong residents of downtown and they, too, enjoy exercising and appreciating all that downtown has to offer.
Beaufort is doing a great job and we hope you take time to pat yourselves on the back, officials and residents alike, for jobs well done and hearts and actions in the right place. We are blessed to call Beaufort home.
