A free training clinic at 5:30 p.m. Thursday will help participants in the LoCo Motion walking and running event, a breast cancer fundraiser scheduled for this fall in Beaufort County.
Health and fitness experts will present a free one-hour clinic on hydration, nutrition and footwear at the Keyserling Cancer Center in Beaufort.
More than 2,000 people are expected to participate in the Sept. 30-Oct. 2 LoCo Motion event, trekking 10 miles a day through old town Bluffton and the beaches of Hilton Head Island, according to a news release.
Training sessions are being offered twice a week at various locations and times to help participants prepare for the challenge. For more information, go to www.dothelocomotion.org or call 843-868-1888.
Proceeds from LoCo Motion will benefit several regional cancer organizations, including Beaufort Memorial's Keyserling Cancer Center, Beaufort Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Care and the Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, the release said.
