The Technical College of the Lowcountry, along with Greenville Technical College, will offer a course on lead renovation, repair and painting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 10 on TCL's Beaufort campus, Building 22, Room 100. The cost is $285.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued a rule in 2008 requiring practices aimed at preventing lead poisoning. Greenville Technical College was one of the first nine EPA-approved training providers in the nation.
Those who complete the training March 10 will receive RRP certification that is applicable for work in South Carolina, North Carolina and several other states. Participants also will receive a certificate of completion, accompanied by an EPA certification card with photo identification.
