Four middle school students were charged Thursday with possession of alcohol and two with simple possession of marijuana during an investigation by Bluffton police school resource officers, according to a department news release.
One student brought a soda bottle containing alcohol to the school at 250 H.E. McCracken Circle in Bluffton and shared the alcohol with three other students, the release said. Two other students who were socializing with the group were caught trying to hide a small, clear plastic bag containing marijuana, the release said.
All six students -- ranging from age 13 to 15 -- were arrested and charged with misdemeanors and released to their parents, according to the release.
