A Grand Junction, Colo., man who has launched a long-shot bid to unseat President Barack Obama in 2012 will make two Lowcountry appearances.
John Davis, who owns a building-supply company, will bring his "Votercade Across America" campaign to Blackstone's Cafe in Beaufort at 8 a.m. Feb. 26. He also plans a stop in Ridgeland on Feb. 25 at a site to be determined, according to a news release.
Davis, who hopes to earn the Republican nomination, is a father of six who has been self-employed most of his life and does not have a college degree, according to his website, johndavisforpresident.org.
Davis plans to visit all 3,200 counties in the United States, he told The (Grand Junction) Daily Sentinel in October.
