A 38-year-old New Jersey man was arrested early Sunday morning following a robbery in the Beaufort Town Center parking lot, city police said.
Terik Puryear was charged with strong-arm robbery, accused of stealing $100 from a man in the parking lot of Beaufort Town Center shortly before 1 a.m. on Sunday, according to a Beaufort Police Department report.
Puryear allegedly approached the man, verbally threatened him and then stole the man’s cash, said police investigator Stephanie Karafa. Police found Puryear near Sycamore Street shortly after, and the victim identified him as the man who robbed him, she said. The $100 was not recovered.

Puryear was booked in the Beaufort County Detention Center early Sunday morning and remained incarcerated Wednesday morning, according to online detention center records. His bond is set at $75,615, and he also faces a misdemeanor charge of simple possession of marijuana, records show.
