Hilton Head utility to expand filtering plant

A nearly $3 million expansion of the Jenkins Island reverse osmosis water filtration plant will raise its capacity from 3 million to 4 million gallons a day and help offset ongoing saltwater contamination of freshwater wells, according to the Hilton Head Public Service District.
