Five people were injured in a multi-vehicle wreck in Jasper County on U.S. Highway 17 near the Talmadge Bridge to Savannah Wednesday morning.
All five people had non-life threatening injuries, Jasper County Emergency Services Deputy Chief Russell Wells said. They were taken to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.
A pickup truck involved in the wreck caught fire, Wells said.
The wreck occured at about 7:30 a.m. a few miles north of the bridge. Though it occured in the southbound lane, it shut down traffic traveling both directions, Wells said.
The wreck was cleared at about 9:45 a.m.
