The Hilton Head Island Fire & Rescue Division will answer questions this morning from a town committee about recommendations the division made in its 2013 strategic plan.
Town of Hilton Head Island Public Safety Committee and division leaders met Monday to discuss most of the 54 suggestions listed in the plan.
The groups will discuss the remaining 20 items today, including:
- Possible purchase of a fire and rescue boat.
- A ban on open burning.
- A possible fee to property owners who that frequently cause false alarms.
- Limiting the sale and use of fireworks on the island.
- Repairing dirt roads.
After discussing the items, the committee is expected to make a recommendation to Town Council about the entire plan.
The meeting, which begins at 10 a.m., will be held in the council chambers at Town Hall, 1 Town Center Court.
