A small truck rear-ended a log truck on S.C. 170 near Old Bailey Road this morning. The collision did not result in any major injuries, according to the Hardeeville Fire Department.
Traffic was limited to one lane in both directions for about an hour as firefighters cleared the wreckage. As of noon, traffic flow is back to normal, said Fire Chief Dan Morgan.
Morgan said the log truck was slowing down to pull into a logging operation area when a small box truck ran into the rear bumper. The driver of the log truck was not injured. The driver of the smaller truck was taken to Coastal Carolina Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Morgan said.
S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
