Family Promise of Beaufort County recently moved the day shelter to a larger, more functional facility. During the move, we had the generous help of many volunteers, businesses and organizations and would like to express our thanks to the individuals who were our angels.
Shawn Murdaugh of Quality Fence removed the playground fence at our old location, then reinstalled it at the new center.
Timeless Interiors donated the use of its truck and employees to move our furniture and boxes.
Members of the Okatie Rotary Club dissembled the playground equipment at the former location and transported it to our new playground.
The Moms' Club of Hilton Head and Lowcountry and Lowcountry Medical Care provided drinks and refreshments. The Moms' Club returned a few weeks later with preschool children in tow to organize and decorate the children's playroom.
Family Promise is grateful for the assistance given by these groups. We could not have made the move without their help.
Family Promise is a donor- and volunteer-driven nonprofit organization whose purpose is to provide shelter to homeless children and their families while equipping them with the skills and resources to return to stable housing.
