Mike Schellhase, one of our team, approached J. Worly, manager of the Hardeeville Walmart about donating some bakery items for our Oct. 2 reunion meeting at the Allendale Correctional Institution in Fairfax.
Mr. Worley arranged to have cartons of baked goods -- breads, rolls, cookies and donuts -- made available. Needless to say, those who attended were blown away by the goodies we brought in that night. More than 80 residents feasted on baked goods that they had not seen in some time.
AIROS is an international nondenominational prison ministry serving more than 11 correctional institutions in South Carolina. The generosity of companies, such as Walmart, help make the ministry possible.
Again, our deepest thanks to the generous giving of the Hardeeville Walmart.
