A 23-year-old Burton man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this week was arrested today in Jacksonville, Fla., according to Beaufort police.
Information on what Rajerick Lovell Knight was doing in Florida, and when he’ll be extradited to Beaufort County to face murder charges is expected to be released later today.
Knight, of Tammy Lane, was wanted for the murder of Travis Sentell Holmes, 28, on Tuesday inside the Subway restaurant along Robert Smalls Parkway, said Police Chief Matt Clancy.
Holmes was inside the sandwich shop at about 7 p.m. when Knight and a woman entered, according to police. The woman’s name has not been released, and it is unclear whether she’ll be charged in connection with the killing.
Knight left the restaurant with the woman but quickly returned and opened fired on Holmes, police said. Holmes was pronounced dead at the scene.
