The University of South Carolina Beaufort Continuing Education will sponsor a USCB Lunch With Author series with Mary Alice Monroe at noon Thursday at the Moss Creek clubhouse.
The New York Times best-selling author will talk about her new book, "The Butterfly's Daughter," a story about women following migrating monarchs across the United States to Mexico. The luncheon, which costs $42, will have a Cinco de Mayo theme. Reservations are required.
