The boyfriend of the mother who was killed with her son Nov. 15 in Dale was charged Monday in their murders. A 2-year-old boy also was shot and injured.
Earnest Stewart Daise, 27, who has been in custody on drug charges since Nov. 16, has been charged with two counts of murder for the shooting deaths of his girlfriend, Jeanine Mullen, 34, and 4-year-old Waltfredo Davis-Mullen, and assault and battery with intent to kill for shooting Jeremiah Daise, according to a news release Monday from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
Representatives from the Sheriff's Office and Solicitor's Office will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Center to discuss details of the case.
The victims were discovered in their home at 20 Player Lane about 7 p.m. Nov. 15 by Jeanine Mullen's father and her two older children, ages 11 and 13, who were returning from an afternoon out.
Mullen and Waltfredo were pronounced dead at the scene.
Jeremiah was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he remains, his condition undisclosed, the release said.
While executing search warrants for Daise's property Nov. 16, investigators found marijuana and crack cocaine. Daise was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and trafficking crack cocaine, as well as violation of probation and an outstanding general sessions bench warrant. He has been in the Beaufort County Detention Center since.
Evidence collected from his home is being analyzed by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
