A woman reported a sexual assault on Thursday in a wooded area near the entrance to the Sandy Pointe neighborhood. As of Friday morning, the suspect is still at large, said Capt. Bob Bromage, of the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
Beaufort Water Search and Rescue, an all-volunteer rescue division based in Port Royal, rescued to kayakers stuck in the marshes of Broad Creek on Hilton Head Island Thursday afternoon, but a hard turn in their airboat left them grounded as well. After a 20-30 minute wait, the tide coming in allowed them to get back to land. There were no injuries.

Hundreds of animals were seized from Roy's Aquarium Tuesday and Wednesday, heading to temporary homes where they will receive care, according to Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
