Hilton Head Hospital will provide one last seasonal flu shot clinic for the year from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday in the hospital’s boardroom at 25 Hospital Center Blvd.
There is no cost for the seasonal flu shot for individuals with Medicare. Medicare recipients must bring a photo ID, such as a driver’s license or state-issued identification card, and their Medicare Card (Part B), according to a hospital release.
The immunization is $30 for people who do not have Medicare, payable in cash or by check only. No insurance will be accepted or filed.
Appointments are necessary, and space is limited. To make an appointment, call 866-819-8326.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, influenza viruses are always changing, so annual vaccination is recommended. It will not prevent illness caused by other viruses. It takes up to two weeks for protection to develop after the shot and protection lasts about a year, the release said.
