The Reed Group recently formed RG Materials and RG Realty. As a subsidiary of Reed Group, RG Materials will manage the company's parcels of land that provide materials suitable as fill for road embankments, construction sites and building areas. Erik Olson will serve as director of operations for RG Materials. RG Material's mining property is located near downtown Savannah. RG Realty will oversee the sales for May River Preserve on May River Road in Bluffton. RG Realty agents also will handle general brokerage listings throughout Bluffton and Hilton Head Island. Weichert, Realtors-Coastal Properties will host a grand opening event for new models at Abbey Glen from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The event is free and open to the public and will include seminars, tours of the Oconee and Hawthorn models and refreshments. Karen Geiger of Creative Gardening is a landscape designer who specializes in color, courtyards and entry points. Geiger will speak at noon about container gardening for villa living. Adele Mahan of Fresh Start is a licensed Realtor and home stager. K. Hovnanian Homes recently acquired Shell Hall in Bluffton, located at the intersection of Buckwalter and Bluffton parkways.The company will begin building and selling new floor plans in the coming weeks. Shell Hall is a private gated community with amenities that include a full-service clubhouse, Olympic-sized swimming pool, fitness center, and tennis and bocce courts. Details:

Rodney Engard, president of Engard Real Estate Company, presented Bluffton High School teacher Josh Fox with the 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year Award on May 29. This is the ninth year Engard Real Estate and Shell Hall have presented this award, according to Bluffton High School principal Mark Dievendorf. In addition, Engard presented the 2013 Shell Hall/Engard Real Estate Company Scholarship Award to Bluffton High School senior Elizabeth Ann Collins. Elizabeth will be attending Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. For almost 10 years, Engard Real Estate Company has been giving back to Bluffton High School through the Courvosie Scholarship Fund, which benefits the annual teacher of the year award and a scholarship for continuing education to one high school senior.
