The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce has been selected as one of five finalist for the Chamber of the Year award by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives, according to a news release Friday.
The chamber won the national award in 2000 and 2006 and was a finalist in 2010 and 2012. The winner will be announced Aug. 13.
Only a small number of the more than 6,000 chambers in the country qualify for consideration, according to the release. The award application includes an accounting of programs, fiscal responsibility and member satisfaction. Finalists participate in interviews with a panel of industry leaders.
"It's an honor to be among the five finalists for Chamber of the Year," said chamber board chairman Tom Upshaw. "To be nominated is a reflection on the chamber's success on behalf of its members and excellence demonstrated in all areas of operation."
