Strong start to tourism season expected Memorial Day weekend

Hotels and vacation-rental agencies in Beaufort County say bookings are on the rise compared to 2013, and the trend should continue over the Memorial Day weekend. About 441,550 South Carolinians hit the road for the holiday, a 1.8 percent increase from last year, according to AAA Carolinas.
