Breakfast for dinner might sound like an oxymoron to some or a delicacy to others, but it’s now a reality at The Corner Perk, which has added night hours.
According to owner Josh Cooke, the coffee shop on May River Road in Old Town Bluffton will serve its brunch menu at night in the cafe and upstairs in The Roasting Room. He said breakfast for dinner is something he grew up eating about once a week and it’s a venture he’s wanted to do for a while.
“We wanted to do something that was completely different than any other restaurant ...,” he said. “Breakfast for dinner, who does that?”
Cooke said that former staff who’ve returned to Corner Perk wanted to bring back the dessert bar and extend the hours serving food after many customers requested it. The same menu served during the day will be available till late at night, along with options for dessert like a Fireball cupcake, s’mores cupcake, bundt cake and bourbon pecan pie, he said. The Roasting Room is now also open every night from 6 to 10 p.m.
“We kind of were wanting to be a little bit, trendy ... you know brunch is really popular right now,” he said. “It’s easier for us right now and why not make it available at any time.”
The Corner Perk is open until 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, but the kitchen closes at 9 p.m.
