The goggles help simulate the effects of drunkenness by distorting the wearer's vision. "It was harder than I thought it was going to be," Bingham said. "The cones kept moving." For his poor performance on the obstacle course, Bingham was awarded a 'death certificate.'

    USCB freshman Jenna Foster tries to get used to her "beer goggles" Wednesday before running an obstacle course as part of the school's Alcohol Awareness Week. The goggles simulate the effects of drunkenness by distorting the wearer's vision. "I felt like I had my grandmother's glasses on," said Foster after clumsily running the course. Alcohol Awareness Week continues today with the Bash For Cash fundraiser in which students pay a dollar to take a whack at a vehicle that was involved in an alcohol-related crash.

For the record, Adam won each of several heats though Amy kept it close, especially in this, their final race. The two are visiting Beaufort from North Augusta, S.C.
