Churches offer many opportunities to give thanks at Thanksgiving. Here are some of the upcoming events:
Suggested donations are frozen turkeys, potatoes, canned yams, green beans, cranberry sauce and rolls. Families benefiting from this effort are referred by charitable agencies and participating churches. Participating organizations are: Love House Ministries, Sea Island Presbyterian Church, Seaside Vineyard, Spoken Word Outreach Ministries, St. Luke's Lutheran Church, The Link and Tidal Creek Fellowship. Volunteers are being solicited for collection, inventory and distribution.

CHURCH OF THE CROSS
The Church of the Cross will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the old town Bluffton campus, 110 Calhoun St. The event will include holiday decorations and ornaments, Crafter's Guild handmade gifts, homemade jellies and preserves, vintage angels and the Flower Guild garden shoppe. There will be baked goods as well as hot dogs and chili for sale.

FRIENDSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH

UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST CONGREGATION OF THE LOWCOUNTRY
The Rev. Manuel Holland will speak on the fourth principle and his sermon is titled "Truth and Meaning in Religion and Elsewhere" at 10 a.m. Sunday. The church is at 110 Malphrus Road, Bluffton.
CHRISTIAN SCIENCE SOCIETY OF BEAUFORT
The Christian Science Society, Beaufort joins with the Hilton Head and Savannah Christian Science churches to sponsor a weekly radio broadcast on WLOW 107.9 FM at 8:30 a.m. Sundays. Hear how people overcome illness, relationship difficulties, financial hardships and other trials through prayer.
"Soul and Body" will be the subject of the Bible lesson at the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday. The society meets at Temple Beth Israel, 401 Scott St., Beaufort.
ST. LUKE'S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
Recovery Services are held 7-8 p.m. every Tuesday at the church in Bluffton/Okatie. The church near the back gates of Sun City Hilton Head is open to those seeking spiritual solutions to life's problems. The group meets at 6:30 p.m. with St. Luke's Pastor Richard Smith and other members and guests over coffee in the social hall. The service begins at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary with live contemporary Christian music.
ADAM STREET BAPTIST CHURCH

ALL SAINTS GARDEN TOUR
The 2012 All Saints Garden Tour is seeking applications from local nonprofit organizations that would like to be considered as beneficiaries for next year's event. Applicants must provide services to the citizens of Beaufort or Jasper county as they struggle with the specific challenges presented either by hunger, homelessness or literacy. All profits from the 25th annual tour, which will be held May 19, will be donated to several local nonprofit organizations that meet the established criteria.
