There is magic in using leftovers. You really have to be gifted in the kitchen to turn a well-loved dish into yet another well-loved dish. This calls for creativity and rolling up your sleeves. I especially like it when my family thinks the dish tastes even better the second time around.
Sometimes perfecting leftovers is left up to chance. One time I had to find a use for some leftover hot dog buns. I love toast, so I decided to coat them with butter and broil them in the oven. I served them with marmalade and hot chocolate. They became a hit with my grandkids on Saturday mornings when they'd sleep over. I added them to what I call my Granny Saturday Morning Breakfast. I recommend including a few turkey sausage patties to make this complete.
