A hot dog eating contest that's part of the qualifying circuit for the annual July 4 hot dog eating contest on Coney Island will be at 11 a.m. June 7 on River Street in Savannah.
The Savannah contest will be a 10-minute, all-you-can-eat contest on the corner of Drayton and East Bay streets. It will feature top-ranked eaters, including No. 7-ranked Adrian Morgan of Baton Rouge, La., "Buffalo" Jim Reeves of Buffalo, N.Y., and Georgia champions Damien Boykin and Ronnie Harman, an Army specialist at Ft. Sonya Thomas of Alexandria, Va., will defend her title as female champion; she has consumed a personal best of 45 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes.
