Name: Judy Hutson
Husband: Harvey, died Jan. 11
Children: Matt, 41; David, 35; granddaughter Harmony, 4
Occupation: Co-owner of Booksalicious; retired teacher who taught for 31 years at McCracken Middle School
Go-to dinner: Seafood
Biggest pet peeve: Getting a phone call and nobody is on the other end or it's someone trying to market something to her
Hobbies: Reading, dancing, walking, teaching
Volunteer work: Hutson used to volunteer at nursing homes and with Rotary Reader at Michael C. Riley. She also did prison ministry with her husband, Harvey, who recently died.
Favorite mommy moment: Sitting in the chair, reading to her children and eating popcorn
Most challenging moment: "I taught Matt in seventh grade," Hutson said. "Keeping the balance of being a mom and the teacher, I had to be fair. So one time he got a C."
Stress reliever: "I like to just ride around Bluffton and go down to Alljoy, and go down to the river," she said. "Just soak in nature and forget my problems. It always works for me."
Tips/advice for other moms: "Put God first, and everything will fall into place," she said. "That doesn't mean everything is going to be perfect, but everything will work out eventually."
