The volunteers, staff and board of directors extend grateful appreciation to The Mall at Shelter Cove and its outstanding staff for the amazing donation of more than $10,000 in furniture and equipment for the new Bluffton Self Help building from the vacated Off Fifth space.
The equipment donated includes numerous shoe racks, clothing racks, calendar boards, mirrors, shelving, tables and more that will be put to good use in the new building. Bluffton Self Help is expected to relocate to 39 Sheridan Circle in Sheridan Park in early November.
Thank you Mall at Shelter Cove for helping us help our neighbors stay in their homes.
Never miss a local story.

For fixing a flat
I would like to take this opportunity to thank an unknown English gentleman who stopped and helped four damsels in distress.
Around 11:30 a.m. Aug. 2, we were on our way to a pool party in Hilton Head Plantation, driving down Gumtree Road when all of sudden, there was a big thud. Yes, we had a flat tire.
The owner (Jeanne) called AAA, and they were on the way when out of nowhere appeared a gentleman (dressed in white shirt and tie) who offered to change the tire. It was a very hot day and we informed him that AAA was on the way, but he insisted on coming to our aid.
In no time at all, he had us back on the road. We did not get his name, and we thanked him profusely. He said he came to our aid because that is how his mother brought him up. Amen to that. Jeanne, Mary Anne, Emory and Ede say, "Thank you, thank you." You are a true gentleman and a knight in shining armor.
