For supporting Memory Matters
On behalf of our board of directors, our staff and especially our clients, I want to thank the May River Theatre for its generous gift to Memory Matters.
On May 12, a crowded theater enjoyed the Tony Award-winning show "Chicago." The cast dazzled us with such hits, as "All that Jazz" and "Razzle Dazzle." Memory Matters was the beneficiary of its last dress rehearsal, and the cast was marvelous.
The people of May River Theatre believe in supporting its community and always offers its last dress rehearsal to local nonprofit organizations. We are thankful for their generosity and kindness. Before the show, ticket-holders enjoyed wonderful hors d'oeuvres provided by Bess' Delicatessen and Catering at the beautiful Church of the Cross in Bluffton on the May River. We are thankful for the support of the May River Theatre, Bess' Delicatessen and The Church of the Cross.
We would also like to thank all of those who purchased tickets. Your support means so much to our organization, but most importantly, it means so much to our families.
Memory Matters is a local nonprofit that provides hands-on help and services for families dealing with all forms of dementia. We can be reached at 843-842-6688.

To those who helped us dance
Bluffton Jasper County Volunteers In Medicine would like to express our gratitude to the Sun City Hilton Head Ballroom Dance Group for hosting a fundraising event for our medical clinic. Not only was there a variety of dances performed by the dance club, but also a variety of items donated for a silent auction, as well as donated food items for dinner.
Special thanks to Bob and Jan Kelly and numerous volunteers who organized the event. Pinckney Hall was filled with members of the dance club and generous Sun City and Bluffton residents.
Our clinic is due to open this summer. We will deliver primary health care, health education and preventive disease education through our free medical clinic to uninsured and underinsured residents and workers of the greater Bluffton area and Jasper County who meet our financial criteria.

For helping us provide extra care
Pregnancy Center & Clinic of the Low Country wishes to acknowledge publicly the receipt of a grant from the Cigna Foundation for use in providing free medical care to the uninsured and underinsured women accessing our free mobile medical unit. We cannot sufficiently express our deep gratitude and appreciation to our new friends whose funding will support our mobile medical unit, serving southern Beaufort and Jasper counties.
The recognition of the work we do in the community -- providing 22 free services, with prenatal care through the 16th week of gestation, to any woman who accesses the center -- is very gratifying. The clinic has no geographic boundaries, therefore it is accessed by uninsured and underinsured women from as far away as Savannah.

For making us No. 1 in South Carolina
It is with great pride and pleasure that I can say Hilton Head Island High School is No. 1 in AAA high school sports in South Carolina. This in an honor that we have not enjoyed for 25 years.
During the most recent school year, the Seahawks have won five state team titles, three Lower State or runner-up titles and 14 regional crowns. This is quite an accomplishment.
We have 17 athletes who will either be on an athletic scholarship or recruited walk-on status, with many participating at the Division 1 level. This number represents more than seven times the national average for high school students participating in college athletics.
Hilton Head High fields 21 varsity sports for both girls and boys and many junior varsity programs; there is something for everyone. The success of our teams can be directly traced back to our coaches and athletes and their commitment to excellence.
I would also like to recognize the tremendous parent support. The only thing better than being a student who is part of a winning program is seeing your child succeed. We are proud of our senior class and look forward to a great future. The bar has been set high, but I know our underclassmen will enjoy the challenge. Good luck, Seahawks. Congratulations on an outstanding year.
