To hospital staff
I spent several days at Hilton Head Hospital recently having my knee replaced.
My grateful thanks go out to Dr. Nicholas Mehelic for his surgery on my knee. All went so well. It is doing fine. I have had no pain and am getting around very well. I just want to thank Peggy and all of his staff for their good work getting me in the hospital and getting me home again. I spent a few days with my mom but am so happy to be back in my own bed again.
Thanks also go to Betty McLeod, who should be named nurse of the year at Hilton Head Hospital. There was nothing Betty did not do for me that I needed, and thank you for a job well done. My special thanks to everyone there who took such good care of me.

In addition, the shop has donated more than $30,000 in goods for families in need through our partners, such as CODA, Family Promise and the Department of Social Services.
We also want to thank our volunteers, who sort, clean and price goods. They are priceless.
We strive every day to make our shop a clean, bright place to shop, provide useable goods for a reasonable price and give you a taste of God's grace.

For tournament success
On behalf of the Hilton Head Island High School boys and girls basketball teams, we would like to thank everyone who helped make the 28th annual Hilton Oceanfront Resort Seahawk Holiday Classic such a success. This three-day basketball tournament involved 16 teams (eight boys and eight girls) from five different states. Its success is once again due to the unselfish efforts of so many in the Hilton Head community.
In particular, we would like to thank the Hilton Oceanfront Resort, which again agreed to be our corporate sponsor. This tournament would not be a reality without the generosity of the Hilton in general and in particular the work of Flo Wiggins and the Hilton's staff, including the front desk personnel and housekeeping staff who helped make the tournament enjoyable for all who came so far to participate.
Through their tireless efforts, numerous volunteers upgraded the entire atmosphere of the tournament. In particular, we want to thank Shawn Zink (our athletic trainer), Ron Costello, Guy Malool, Cathy Duane, Mike and Sally Maneseotis, and Steve and Janelle Dill for their tireless efforts to make the tournament such a special event. Finally, we could never give enough thanks to the staff, parents, and students at Hilton Head High who gave up so much of their personal time to help us make this tournament a positive experience for everyone.
It is humbling to be part of a community event that makes everyone on the island proud.
