Grade/school: Second grade at Riverview Charter School
Town: Port Royal
Favorite reading spot: My room
Book: "Freckle Juice," by Judy Blume
Would you recommend this book to a friend?
Yes, I would tell them about it. When someone has freckles, there's a cure. It's not really a cure; it makes you sick because all the ingredients are stuff that kids don't really love to eat or drink. If you mix it up, it's not going to taste good. You'll feel sick. Someone wants freckles, but he can't get them, so he just puts marker on his face because his friend has freckles. He thought he wanted freckles, too. The teacher told him, "You look handsome just the way you are."
Do you like to read?
I don't like to read a lot, but I like to read. Some days I just want to chillax and just watch TV or build Legos. But every day I have to read a book.
Why is it important for kids to read?
So you can learn new words and have very much fun. Reading helps you with spelling, vocabulary, lots of stuff. It's very good for you. It's good for your brain, too.
